Office Administrator

Primary responsibilities for this position include providing phone and reception coverage, managing office supply inventory, handling daily mail and shipping requests, coordinating company events, and providing back up to the Executive Assistant and Customer Service Representative.

Job requirements:

  •  Highly organized and process-oriented
  •  Strong customer service skills
  •  Works autonomously under minimal direction

Associate, Assisted Reproductive Technology

ViaGen is seeking entry-level scientific talent to join our cloning production team in Austin, TX.  This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to become a part of our growing organization and to contribute to the company's success.

Reporting to the Cell Culture Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in preparing tissue/cell culture, performing media preparation, maintaining gene banking of tissue samples and performing general lab maintenance.

Minimum qualifications require a Bachelor of Science degree or related field, with preference given to individuals with cell/embryo culture experience. Candidates should be proficient in MS Office programs and possess the ability to implement new technology to aid in project completion. Basic knowledge of reproduction, cell biology, and/or cell cultures preferred.  Strong attention to detail, good eye-hand coordination, and the ability to work well alone and as part of small teams is essential.  The ideal candidate will have an upbeat attitude, strong work ethic, and the desire to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing company. 

** Due to the nature of the work, a flexible work schedule and occasional weekend work may be required.

Laboratory Assistant (seasonal) – Lethbridge, Alberta

ViaGen has an opening for a part-time, temporary Laboratory Assistant in our Lethbridge, AB lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for culture media preparation, record keeping and other projects in the area of Reproductive Technology.   Position may include collecting tissue at processing plant and heavy lifting.  Preference will be given to applicants with laboratory experience in cell culture and oocyte maturation.  Further training opportunities may exist for skilled individuals. 

Job requirements:

  • Basic understanding of biology and physiology.  
  • Good eye-hand coordination.
  • Focused attention to detail.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Due to the nature of the work, a flexible work schedule and occasional     evening/weekend work may be required.
